Janessa Martin

Janessa Martin has a diverse range of work experience in various educational and cultural institutions. Janessa most recently worked as the Director of Social and Emotional Learning Instruction at 3DE Schools starting in 2024. Prior to that, they held roles at the Center for Responsive Schools, where they served as the Lead Curriculum & Instructional Designer from 2021 to 2024 and as a Curriculum and Instructional Designer from 2019 to 2024. Janessa also served as a Board Member at Women Writing for (a) Change, Jacksonville from 2018 to 2021. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Preschool Teacher at Melrose Avenue Preschool from 2017 to 2018, an English Second Language Teacher at EF Education First from 2017 to 2017, an English Teacher at Duval County Public Schools from 2016 to 2017, an English Teacher at Salem Academy Charter School from 2015 to 2016, a Museum Educator at the Children's Museum of Virginia from 2012 to 2013, and a Museum Educator at the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs from 2010 to 2011.

Janessa Martin holds a Master's degree in Education from Boston University, which they obtained in 2015. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities/Humanistic Studies from Florida State University in 2010. Janessa has also obtained additional certifications including an ESL Endorsement and Teacher Licensure in English Grades 5-12 from the Massachusetts Department of Education.
