Payman Torabi

CTO at 3DEO

Payman Torabi began their career in 2009 as a researcher in the Robotic Surgery Lab of the Sharif University of Technology. In this role, they designed and manufactured a robotic gripper for a master-slave robotic surgery system. From 2012 to 2016, they worked as a PhD Researcher at the University of Southern California, where they developed two high resolution metal 3D printers based on the Selective Inhibition Sintering (SIS) and the Selective Separation Sintering (SSS) processes. Since 2016, they have been the CTO of 3DEO, Inc., where they work to develop the world's first affordable metal 3D printing process.

Payman Torabi obtained their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from K.N. Toosi University of Technology in 2009. Payman then went on to obtain their Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2012. Finally, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Southern California in 2016.
