Vahan Bakunts

Vahan Bakunts has worked in a variety of roles in the audio and film industries since 1999. Vahan began their career as a Sound Engineer at Armenia TV, followed by a role as Recording Studio Engineer at Yerevan State Chamber Theatre in 2000. In 2003, they became a Sound Engineer and Musical Editor at Shoghakat TV. In 2007, they took on two roles, one as (Part-time) Audio Engineer, Audio Post Production Specialist at IF "Independent Filmmakers" and another as Sound Director at 7x7o Christian Broadcasting TV Company. Finally, in 2011, they became Audio Visual Supervisor at "Hayordats tun" (Armenian-borns' house) Cultural Center. Most recently, in 2020, they took on the role of Managing Director at dzook, where they and their team have created the AILA AI algorithm which learned to draw illustrated portraits.

Vahan Bakunts studied at Secondary School #20 from 1981 to 1991, then at "Gladzor" University from 1991 to 1993, followed by Technology College from 1996 to 1998. During this time, they also attended "Meltex" High courses for TV employees in 1998 to gain Sound Director Skill, and "Jazz College of Armenia" Ministry of Culture from 1998 to 2001 to learn Music Composer and Aranger Skills.
