Leo Oves

Chief Information Officer at Verisk 3E

Leo Oves brings more than 30 years of IT, EHS and management experience to Verisk 3E. He joined Ariel Research Corporation in 1992 as a senior software consultant and later became CIO and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ariel, prior to its acquisition by Eastman Chemical in 2001. Following Ariel's acquisition by Verisk 3E (then 3E Company) in 2004, Mr. Oves served as Vice President, R&D and CIO.

Over the years, Mr. Oves' knowledge and application of advanced technology to the business needs of customers have played a pivotal role in the development of Verisk 3E's products and services. He is a recognized industry expert and represents Verisk 3E at numerous international IT and EHS forums.

Prior to joining Ariel, Mr. Oves worked for several research institutes in St. Petersburg, Russia, developing models and software for the optimization of large multi-product marine transportation networks and satellite communications. Upon moving to the U.S., he worked as a software development consultant for Hughes Network Systems and Plantronics.

Mr. Oves earned Operations Research, Computer Science and Management degrees from the University of St. Petersburg, Russia and University of Maryland and Executive Certificate in Strategy and Innovation from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
