Chandan supports 3ie’s livelihoods programmes, including the National Rural Livelihoods Mission and the Women’s Social and Economic Inclusion and Empowerment in India Evidence Programme. His work at 3ie focuses on providing technical support to the ongoing impact evaluation under the 3ie’s livelihoods programmes. Prior to joining 3ie, Chandan was working, at Ashoka University, on a project that analyses the effect of teacher transfers on learning outcomes. Besides, in the past, he has also been associated with the Indian Statistical Institute and Heidelberg University as a Visiting Scholar. His research has also focussed on different issues pertaining to education, labour and governance for the Indian context. His ongoing work on education analyses issues relating to segregation in schools and teacher transfers in the Indian context. Chandan holds a PhD in Economics from Shiv Nadar University and a Masters in Economics from TERI University, India.
