Jelle Groenendaal

Jelle Groenendaal's work experience includes roles at various companies and institutions. Jelle is currently serving as the Co-Founder & CMO of 3rdRisk since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Thesis Supervisor in IT Audit, Compliance, and Advisory at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam starting from October 2021. Jelle also held the position of Global Business Resilience Manager (interim) at Liberty Global from October 2021 until April 2022.

Before joining Liberty Global, Jelle worked at ING, where they served as a Senior Operational Resilience Manager from April 2018 to October 2021. Jelle previously held the role of Senior Cyber Risk Manager at ING from February 2016 to April 2018.

Jelle has also worked as the Lector Risk Management & Cyber Security at De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences from May 2020 to June 2021. Jelle gained experience as the Manager of Cyber Resilience and Crisis Management at Deloitte Nederland from April 2015 to February 2016.

Jelle's early work experience includes the role of a Senior Consultant in Risk, Safety & Crisis Management at Crisislab, where they worked from July 2008 to January 2015.

Jelle Groenendaal's education history is as follows:

In 2019, Jelle Groenendaal attended the SANS Technology Institute and studied SEC566 Implementing & Auditing the Critical Security Controls In Depth. This program did not result in a degree.

In 2018, Jelle Groenendaal studied Leren Leiden at de Baak but did not earn a degree.

In 2017, Jelle Groenendaal attended the SANS Technology Institute again and focused on SEC504 Hacker Tools, Techniques, Exploits, and Incident Handling. No degree was obtained.

From 2010 to 2015, Jelle Groenendaal pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Risk Management at Radboud University.

From 2004 to 2008, Jelle Groenendaal earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Strategy, Communication, and Organization from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam).

In addition to their education, Jelle Groenendaal has obtained several certifications. In September 2017, they completed the "Inleiding Bankbedrijf" program at NIBE-SVV Opleidingen. In May 2016, they obtained the Cyber Incident Responder certification from ING. In February 2016, they earned the Cyber Threat Intel Officer certification from FS-ISAC. Finally, in October 2015, Jelle Groenendaal passed the CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) exam administered by ISACA.
