Jens Munk Hansen

Jens Munk Hansen is a Principal Software Engineer at 3Shape since July 2022, previously serving as Principal System Engineer and System Engineer at BK Ultrasound from July 2012 to July 2022, specializing in the design and prototyping of algorithms for ultrasound imaging and signal processing. Jens held a PhD Student position at the Center for Fast Ultrasound and the Technical University of Denmark from July 2009 to June 2012, focusing on developing algorithms for synthetic aperture data. In December 2010, Jens contributed as a Visiting Researcher at Northeastern University, implementing synthetic aperture ultrasound imaging using GPUs. Earlier roles include Research Assistant at the Neurobiological Research Unit in Rigshospitalet Copenhagen, where algorithms for 3D PET image reconstruction were developed, Software Engineer at Weibel Scientific, and a Research Assistant at CERN, analyzing data for particle physics research. Jens holds a PhD in Electric Engineering from DTU, a Master’s in Physics from Københavns Universitet, and a Bachelor’s in Mathematics from Syddansk Universitet.
