Mads Brøkner Falkenberg Christiansen has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Starting in 2001 as an Assistant Teacher at the Technical University of Denmark, they later worked as a Cleanroom Assistant at Sophion Bioscience A/S, where they assisted in product development. In 2009, they joined DTU Nanotech as a Post Doc, focusing on utilizing nanoporous polymers for liquid core waveguide sensors and devices. Since 2012, Mads has been associated with 3Shape, where they held multiple positions, including Optics Developer, Project Manager, People and Project Manager, and most recently, they serve as the Head of Optics and Senior Project Manager. In their current role, they head the Optics/Physics group, manages major R&D projects, provides leadership, and ensures the development of next-generation products.

Mads Brøkner Falkenberg Christiansen completed their educational journey with a Ph.D. in Nanostructured lasers from DTU - Technical University of Denmark in the years 2006-2009. Prior to that, they obtained an M.Sc. in Applied physics engineering from the same university during the period 2000-2005. As an exchange student at the University of Maryland at College Park in 2003, they studied Electronics, numerical mathematics, English, and Karate. Mads completed their high school education at Munkensdam Gymnasium from 1996-1999.
