Mark Schuurman is an experienced entrepreneur and director in the sports industry with a diverse background in athletic development and management. Since January 2014, Mark has led SCHERP Performance and has co-founded GUTS - Go USA Talent in Sports, where guidance is provided to athletes seeking opportunities in the United States. Additionally, Mark co-founded 3X3 UNITES, a foundation dedicated to promoting and developing 3X3 basketball globally. Mark also owns InnoPerformance, focused on innovation in sports. Previous roles include High Performance Director for the Netherlands Basketball Federation and Strategic Policymaker Sport for the Amsterdam City Council. Mark holds a Master in Coaching from the Amsterdam Johan Cruyff Institute and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Sports Management and Physical Education.

3X3 UNITES
3X3 basketball is a very fast growing Olympic sport, in which the Netherlands is taking the lead. 3X3 UNITES community envision people that combine hard work and passion to bring this popular sport to the next level, started in the Netherlands and developing at a global level - “From the streets to the Olympics!”. 3X3 basketball is unique because players have more ownership over the process and thus the sport, which means players are taking more responsibility, being more adaptable and making own decisions. By developing talent, educating youth, organising next level events and contributing to developmental cooperation projects worldwide, 3X3 UNITES lifts the sport in all its forms to a higher level. Assisting where it’s needed and taking responsibility where it’s possible, all to provide 3x3 basketball with the sustainable platform it deserves. 3X3 UNITES achieves this through strong partnerships and a tight 3X3-community. Our partners are widely represented by cooperating organizations from the business side, government (ex. municipalities, provinces, national governments), international educational and non-profit partners (ex. International Sport Alliance, University of Cologne) and of course basketball organizations (ex. FIBA, National Federations and clubs). Skills which are applicable on the court, but also apply to day to day life off the court. These diverse life skills are what 3X3 UNITES instils in its participants.
