412 Food Rescue
Juan Fernandez has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Juan began their career as the General Manager at WRCT 88.3 FM from May 2010 to May 2012. After that, they worked as a Facilities Assistant at The Center for Cartoon Studies from October 2013 to May 2014. In 2014, they joined Enrich Products, Inc. as a Technician from July 2014 to January 2015. Later, they worked at the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council as a Graphic Designer and Administrative Coordinator from September 2016 to January 2020. In 2020, they joined WH Digital as a Frontend Developer from June 2020 to November 2020. Currently, they are employed as a Software Engineer at 412 Food Rescue starting from April 2021.
Juan Fernandez attended Carnegie Mellon University and graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics. Prior to that, from 2012 to 2014, they studied at The Center for Cartoon Studies and obtained a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Cartooning. In 2020, Juan enrolled at Academy Pittsburgh to pursue studies in Web Development, but it does not specify whether they completed a degree in this field.

The 412 Food Rescue app makes it easy to volunteer and transport surplus retail food directly to non-profit partners who serve anyone facing food insecurity. 412 Food Rescue was founded as a direct response to the disconnect between food waste, hunger and environmental sustainability.
