David Smith

David Smith has over 17 years of professional work experience. David began their career in 2004 as a Senior Multimedia Developer at Interactive Web Solutions Ltd. In 2007, they founded Exact Industries, providing multimedia development services. In 2010, they joined Moonfruit as a Software Developer, where they also served as a Scrum Master. In 2015, they joined ITV as a Senior Scala Developer, and in 2017, they became the Head of Engineering, as well as a Principal Software Engineer responsible for the ITV On Demand's Scala engineering capability. David also held a Scala Tech Lead role at HM Revenue & Customs as a contractor. In 2017, they became an Associate at Equal Experts and in 2022, they joined 47 Degrees - Now Xebia as a Lead Software Engineer and Tray.io as a Director of Engineering.

David Smith attended Staffordshire University from 2000 to 2003, where they earned a BA(Hons) in Multimedia Graphics.
