Ratmir Derda

Founder & CEO at 48Hour Discovery

Ratmir Derda is the founder and CEO of 48Hour Discovery. Ratmir was previously an Associate Professor at the University of Alberta from July 2017 to June 2021. Prior to that, they were an Assistant Professor at the University of Alberta from September 2010 to June 2017. Ratmir has also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University from January 2008 to February 2011 and at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering from January 2008 to December 2010. Derda received their Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2001.

Ratmir Derda received their PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Ratmir also holds a BS in applied physics and mathematics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
