Martin Rusner has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. Martin started their career in 2011 as a Trainee at the Department for Military Capability and Operations in the Regeringskansliet, Försvarsdepartementet. Following this, they worked as an Exercise Manager "Minister for a Day" at Folk och Försvar while pursuing their academic studies. In 2012, they became a Deputy Board Member at Austria Travel. From 2013 to 2015, Martin worked as a Consultant and Business Developer in the military, emergency, and public sectors. During this time, they also served as an embedded program manager for the implementation of Exonaut at the British Army Collective Training Group.
In 2015, Martin joined 4C Strategies and held various roles within the company. Martin started as the Nordic Military & Emergency Business Area Manager, where they worked as a business development manager and industry team manager. During this time, Martin and their team played a significant role in supporting the Swedish Armed Forces in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of exercise AURORA 17, the largest Swedish exercise in 24 years.
After this role, Martin became the Nordic Head of Public Business Development, responsible for business development/sales activities for public customers in the Nordic market. Martin then transitioned to the position of Nordic Head of Business Development, overseeing all business development/sales activities and results for the Nordic market while also supporting the company's expansion into the US market. In 2020, Martin became the Head of Training Domain Products & Innovation, responsible for innovation, coordination, and execution of training domain products across global customer bases.
Currently, Martin is the Partner & Chief Product Officer at 4C Strategies, where they are responsible for the vision, strategy, and execution of all software product-related activities. Martin manages an international team of department directors and managers. Martin's work experience also includes their ongoing involvement as a Reserve Officer in the Swedish Armed Forces since 2004, with notable accomplishments such as completing the Higher Reserve Officers Staff Course and receiving a scholarship for excellent performance.
Martin Rusner began their education in 2007 at Försvarshögskolan - Swedish Defence University, where they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science with a focus on Crisis Management and International Cooperation. Martin completed this degree in 2009. Following this, from 2008 to 2010, they continued their studies at Försvarshögskolan and obtained 60 credits in Civil-Military Leadership and Cooperation.
In 2011, Martin enrolled again at Försvarshögskolan for their Master's Degree, specializing in Political Science and Security Policy. Martin completed this program in 2012. Additionally, they attended the Military Academy Halmstad for a year from 2012 to 2013, where they pursued an Army Officer degree. Their studies during this period focused on Leadership, Tactics, Pedagogy, Intelligence Analysis, and Security Policy.
Martin later returned to Försvarshögskolan in 2019 and completed the Higher Reserve Officers Staff Course, concentrating on War Studies. Martin obtained a certificate for completing 12 credits in this field.
