Katy Barglow

Katy Barglow has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Katy is currently serving as the Senior Vice President at 4D Molecular Therapeutics, a position they have held since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Vice President Technical Operations at the same company from January 2021 to March 2022.

Before joining 4D Molecular Therapeutics, Katy was the Vice President, Process and Analytical Development at the company from January 2019 to January 2021. Katy also held the position of Director, Process Sciences and Analytical Development from June 2017 to January 2019.

Prior to their time at 4D Molecular Therapeutics, Katy worked at Grifols Diagnostic Solutions as an Analytical Group Leader from August 2014 to June 2017. Their responsibilities included managing a group of associates performing analytical testing, directing assay development projects, and supporting QC validation and improvements.

Katy also has experience working at Baxter International Inc. as a Research Scientist II from August 2012 to August 2014. In this role, they were involved in assay development, qualification, and QC transfer for protein therapeutics. Katy also served as the Interim Acting Manager of the Analytical Group during March to July 2014.

Additionally, Katy worked as a Temporary Research Scientist at Dophen Biomedical from June 2012 to August 2012, and as a Staff Scientist I at Catalyst Biosciences from August 2011 to May 2012.

Katy's earlier experience includes serving as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley from July 2008 to August 2011, where they worked on elucidating mechanisms of specificity of S-nitrosation. Katy also worked as a Graduate Student at The Scripps Research Institute from September 2002 to June 2008.

Throughout their career, Katy has gained expertise in various areas such as assay development, analytical testing, protein analytics, and mass spectrometry. Katy has also worked in GLP/GMP environments and has experience liaising with quality, validation, regulatory, and QC groups. Additionally, they have authored sections of IND and BLA submissions.

Katy Barglow earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry from Stanford University, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at Scripps Research, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry from 2002 to 2008. Afterward, from 2008 to 2011, Katy Barglow served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley.
