Richard Fisher is an accomplished founder and leader in social innovation and sustainable practices, currently serving as the Founder and Executive Director of 4th Second since April 2016. With a strong background in community empowerment, Fisher founded Vallejo SOUP to promote microgranting events for local projects and previously held the presidency at VALCORE, focusing on zero waste initiatives. As a Certified Biomimicry Professional, Fisher emphasizes nature-inspired solutions to global challenges and has served as a Social Innovation Fellow with StartingBloc. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Biomimicry and Sustainable Engineering from Arizona State University and the University of Arkansas, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.

We believe our 4th second should be an equitable and sustainable world where all people are housed, fed, healthy, inspired, and part of a thriving ecosystem. We seek to catalyze systemic change through direct service, fostering collaboration, and growing community capacity to bridge gaps between community needs and resources.
