James Wu

James Wu is the current Finance Director at 500 Global. James has previous experience working as a finance director at frog from February 2012 to March 2016 and as a senior finance manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific from May 2007 to February 2012. At 500 Global, James is responsible for managing worldwide financial planning and reporting. James is also the direct manager of 3 analysts who are responsible for month-end close, margin forecasting, and variance analysis.

At frog, James owned the annual budgeting process and supported executive management with building the annual revenue plan. James also created operating expense budgets, staffing targets, and sales & variable compensation planning. In addition, James engaged with business partners to create standardized monthly reporting packages and accelerated the timing of reports by implementing standard processes and data pulls for report creation. James also created and implemented a simplified weekly sales forecasting process, reducing the number of staff required to produce the forecast from 4 people to 1 person. Lastly, James collaborated with legal and program management teams to negotiate contract terms and maximize deal margins. James was also responsible for finance sign off on final deal approval.

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, James was a senior finance manager. James's responsibilities included leading a team of finance professionals in providing financial analysis and support to assigned business units. James also created financial models for new business opportunities, performed monthly closing activities, and prepared monthly operating reports. In addition, James developed and implemented processes to improve the efficiency of the finance department.

James Wu has an MBA in finance from the University of Southern California and a B.S. in civil & environmental engineering from the University of Michigan.
