59A
59A is a technology business built to engineer opportunity within the ever increasing complexity of media strategy, planning, and buying. We do this through the creation and deployment of custom algorithms across any programmatic, e-commerce, and social platform. Why are we called 59A? We were looking for something that represents the philosophy of our business. A book titled, ‘Exactly: How Precision Engineers Created the Modern World” depicts the development of engineering from the Industrial Age to the Digital Age exploring the single component crucial to advancement, precision. Throughout the book a theme of creativity is put forward to be as important as engineering itself when it comes to the creation of any solution. One area covered was the introduction of quartz as a capability in watches. Quartz simplified the creation by replacing complex movements and machinery, which not only made timepieces more scalable but also more accurate. In 1959 Seiko started to develop a quartz wristwatch and codenamed the project 59A. Ten years later in 1969 Seiko launched the first ever quartz wristwatch, it was the most precise timepiece ever made and revolutionised the industry forever. The project codenamed 59A is what 59A believes in: creating powerful technology that creates accurate, bespoke, futureproofed, omni-channel custom algorithms to empower the industry with technology in a significant way.
