Maria Fox

Maria Fox has extensive work experience in the field of data science and related roles. Maria is currently employed as a Senior Data Scientist at MyFitnessPal since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked at REEF where they held the positions of Lead Data Scientist from July 2021 to May 2023 and Senior Data Scientist from September 2020 to July 2021.

Before joining REEF, Maria worked at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for several years. Maria held various roles including Senior Coordinator & Statistical Consultant from August 2017 to May 2020, Research Assistant from August 2019 to December 2019, Data Scientist from November 2018 to May 2019, and Programmer from May 2018 to August 2018.

Maria's earlier experiences include working as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from August 2013 to May 2017, and as a Graduate Assistant, Geology Department Web Designer, and Anthropology Department Office Student Worker at the University of Cincinnati from October 2011 to April 2013.

Maria also gained valuable experience as a Digital Design Co-op at Eyes of the World Media Group in 2011, an IT Innovation Coop at JC Penney in 2010, a Design Intern at Hello Design in 2010, a Marketing/Design Intern at UniRush, LLC in 2009, and a Digital Design Intern at Moseley Architects from June 2008 to March 2009.

Maria Fox completed their education in a chronological order. Maria began with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Digital Design from the University of Cincinnati, which they obtained between the years 2006 and 2011. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Anthropology from the same institution, attending from 2011 to 2013. Lastly, Maria obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biological Anthropology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they studied from 2013 to 2020.

Additionally, Maria has obtained several certifications related to data science and machine learning. These include the IBM Data Science Professional Certificate from Coursera Course Certificates, which they obtained in September 2020. Maria also acquired certifications in Machine Learning with Python, Python for Data Science and Machine Learning Bootcamp, The Complete SQL Bootcamp 2020: Go from Zero to Hero, Data Visualization with Python, and Introduction to Data Science Specialization, all from various institutions like Coursera and Udemy.
