Gerardo Colorado Diaz-Caneja has a diverse education history. Gerardo obtained their primary education from Canterbury School, where they studied from 1980 to 1991. After completing primary education, they attended Instituto Isabel de España in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from 1991 to 1995 for high school.

Gerardo then pursued their higher education at Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from 1995 to 2005. During this time, they earned an Engineer's Degree (MEng) in Industrial Engineering, with a specialization in Mechanical machines and construction. Gerardo also obtained a Magister in Industrial Engineering (by recognition from the Ministry of Education of Spain) from the same university.

In 2005, Gerardo continued their studies at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, where they completed an Engineer's Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical/Space Engineering, graduating in 2007.

Throughout their education, Gerardo also obtained several certifications. In 1991, they earned the First Certificate in English from the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate. In 1993, they obtained the Certificate in Advanced English, also from the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate. Most recently, in 2016, Gerardo became a Certified Scrum Product Owner through the Scrum Alliance.
