Austin Tomlinson

Austin Tomlinson is an Associate Professor at the University of Birmingham in the School of Metallurgy and Materials since January 2020, with a prior role as a Lecturer in the Engineering and Physical Sciences Foundation Year. As a co-founder and Education Consultant at Graide since January 2019, Tomlinson is dedicated to innovating the Ed-Tech sector. Experience as a Private Tutor from February 2019 to May 2021 involved providing individualized support for GCSE, A-level, and degree subjects. Tomlinson served as a Teacher of Science specializing in physics at Great Barr Academy for a short period in 2018 and held a Postgraduate Teaching Assistantship at the University of Birmingham from September 2013 to April 2017. Additional experience includes a Graduate Student Internship at the National Physical Laboratory in 2013. Educational credentials include a Postgraduate Diploma of Education in Physics, a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics of Vortex Matter, and a Master's Degree in Theoretical Physics, all obtained from the University of Birmingham.
