Josh Kopelman is the Founder and Partner at First Round Capital, an early stage venture capital firm established in October 2004, specializing in seed-stage investments. In March 2015, Josh became the Chairman Emeritus and Chairman of the Board at The Philadelphia Inquirer, which focuses on sustainable local news models. As a Founding Partner at First Close Partners since 2020, Josh supports venture funds led by underrepresented managers. Additionally, Josh co-founded The Kopelman Foundation, which funds non-profit organizations, and served on the board of directors for the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation until 2023. Previous roles include director positions at GSI Commerce, Main Line Health, and Five Below, as well as leadership at TurnTide and eBay's Half.com business unit. Josh holds a Bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurial Management and Marketing from The Wharton School.
