Henry Thorogood

Henry Thorogood is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the sake, wine, and spirits industries. Currently serving as Honorary Secretary and Operations & Events Officer at the British Sake Association since December 2021, Henry is dedicated to promoting sake in the UK. Involved as an Associate Judge and Judge in various capacities at the International Wine Challenge since October 2020, Henry also acts as the Permanent Representative for Shimizu Seizaburo Shoten Ltd. in the UK, overseeing administrative duties and enhancing the brand's presence in European markets. Additionally, Henry operates as a Freelance Consultant, engages as an Investor at 67 Pall Mall, and was a UK Delegate for the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs' MIRAI Program in 2019. Formerly a Senior Investment Analyst at Alta Advisers Limited, Henry holds a Master's degree in Japanese Studies from SOAS University of London and a Mathematics & Statistics degree from the University of Oxford.
