Helen J. Wang has a long and impressive career in the tech industry. In 2014, they became the CEO and co-founder of 6crickets Inc. Prior to that, they were a Principal Researcher and Research Manager at Microsoft Research from 2001. During their time there, they conducted pioneering research in systems, web, and mobile security, publishing influential papers at top security, privacy, and systems academic conferences. Her work on Shield and GAPA led to the development of an entirely new product now deployed in all Windows machines. Her MashupOS work that introduced OS abstractions in web browsers has significantly impacted the HTML5 design on cross-domain communications, impacting every web developer today.
Helen J. Wang received their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin between 1992 and 1995. Helen J. then went on to pursue their Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, which they completed in 2001.
