Masha Niv

Cohort 5 Member, Co-founder Of Itranslate Via 8400 at 8400 The Health Network

Masha Niv is a distinguished academic and researcher currently serving as the Head of the BSc program in Biochemistry and Food Science and a Full Professor at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem since October 2007. Masha Niv has held various leadership roles, including Vice Dean for Research in the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment, promoting both national and international scientific collaborations. As a member of the Cohort 5 program and co-founder of iTranslate at 8400 - The Health Network, Masha Niv focuses on taste prediction, drug discovery, and bioconvergence. Masha Niv is also a Board Member at the Israel Institute for Advanced Studies and has contributed to innovation initiatives through involvement with HUJI Innovate and leadership development programs in academia. Masha Niv's extensive educational background includes a Direct PhD in theoretical chemistry and a BSc in Chemistry, both from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Previous professional experience includes positions as an Instructor and Postdoc at Weill Cornell Medical College and as a Researcher and Team Leader at Keryx Biopharmaceuticals.

On a mission to drive an Israeli economic growth engine in HealthTech and accelerate global cure, 8400 The Health Network is weaving a network of HealthTech ecosystem leaders, across silos and sectors, who learn together and create gap-closing projects that will propel a thriving HealthTech industry in Israel. The 8400 Fellowship runs annual cohorts of 60 senior Israeli leaders each, for an intensive 17 day program across 7 months. The program’s tailor-made curriculum is creating a continuous platform for breaking silos, peer learning and designing ecosystem growth initiatives. 8400 fellowship graduates join the 8400 Network.
