Andrew Yan (Zhiwu)

Andrew (Zhiwu) Yan has extensive work experience in the biostatistics field. Andrew (Zhiwu) is currently the Executive Director of Biostatistics at 89bio, a position they have held since July 2023. Prior to this, they were the Head of Biometrics at Evive Biotech from August 2021 to June 2023. From June 2018 to August 2021, Andrew served as the Senior Director and Head of Biometrics at NGM Biopharmaceuticals. Before that, they were the Director of Biometrics at Ardelyx, Inc. from February 2016 to June 2018. Andrew also worked at Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Allergan, where they held positions as Associate Director of Biostatistics and Principal Biostatistician/Biostatistics Manager respectively. Andrew (Zhiwu) began their career at Abbott Laboratories as a Research Statistician and worked there from September 2006 to April 2010.

Andrew (Zhiwu) Yan holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Illinois Chicago. Prior to that, they obtained an M.S. degree in Mathematics from Beijing Normal University. Andrew (Zhiwu) also completed their undergraduate studies at Beijing Normal University, earning a B.S. in Mathematics.
