Jenny Farver

Jenny Farver is currently the Co-CEO at 8th Light. Prior to this, they were the CTO at Lightstream from November 2018 to July 2020. The company was acquired by The Vitec Group during their tenure. Jenny was also the CTO at Popular Pays from October 2017 to October 2018. Her previous experience is mostly on technology leadership. Jenny was also an Adjunct Professor of Data Analytics at Kellogg School of Management from September 2014 to September 2018. There, they developed "Programming for Data Analytics" for full-time and part-time MBA students. Jenny's longest previous role was as Vice President of Engineering at Civis Analytics from February 2014 to October 2017. At Civis, they were an early member of the engineering team and led the product development organization (engineering, design and product management) through steady and rapid growth. Jenny released Civis' flagship data science platform and several other software products during their time there. Jenny grew the team from 10 to 50 members and was a member of the leadership team during $22M Series A raise. Prior to Civis, Jenny worked as a Software Developer / Client Success Consultant at Ab Initio Software from January 2006 to June 2010.

Jenny Farver earned a BS in Civil Engineering and City/Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley. Jenny then went on to earn an MS in Transportation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Finally, they earned a PhD in Civil Engineering/Transportation/Algorithms from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
