Suren Rodrigo

Suren Rodrigo has a diverse work experience spanning over 17 years. Suren started their career in 2004 as a Senior Software Engineer and Associate Project Manager at Outscope (Pvt) Ltd, where they quickly advanced to become an Associate Project Manager (PHP/MySQL). During their time there, they designed and developed PHP/MySQL based websites and gained expertise in popular content management systems such as Joomla and Drupal.

In 2008, Rodrigo joined Lanka Communication Service (LankaCom) Pvt Ltd as a Project Manager for Web Application Development. Suren held this role for two years before moving on to new opportunities.

Rodrigo joined 99x in 2010 and held various positions over the years. Suren initially worked as a Senior Software Engineer before becoming an Associate Tech Lead, where they developed web applications using Java technologies and APIs. Suren then served as a Tech Lead, focusing on sharpening the engineering practices and quality standards of the project.

Soon after, Rodrigo became a SCRUM Master on the Corena IETP Team, where they improved and adopted Agile Scrum methodologies. Suren continued to work as a Senior Technical Lead and introduced DevOps to their team, ensuring continuous deployment and testing of features. Suren then served as a Consultant in Software Product Engineering, optimizing the product engineering process and implementing product management best practices.

Rodrigo's responsibilities grew over time, and they eventually became a Director of Product Management at 99x. In this role, they formulated strategies, established guidelines for product health, and worked closely with customers to enhance their business value proposition. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Product Officer at 99x, where they work with the CPO to formulate digital product management and digital transformation strategies to achieve company objectives.

Throughout their career, Rodrigo has demonstrated their ability to work closely with stakeholders, optimize processes, and drive successful outcomes in product development and management.

Suren Rodrigo completed their Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree at SLIIT (Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology) from 2002 to 2006. In 2012, they obtained a certification as a Certified ScrumMaster from the Scrum Alliance.
