Vice President Of Supply Chain at 9to5 Seating

Terence Chan began their work experience as a Leadership Intern Supervisor at the UCLA Office of Residential Life in 2003. Terence then served as an Engineering Intern at Surfx Technologies LLC in 2004, followed by an Undergraduate Intern Technical role at Intel Corporation in 2005. In 2006, they became an Assistant Resident Director at the UCLA Office of Residential Life.

Terence joined Ellison Educational Equipment in 2006 as a Product Engineer. In this role, they engineered the successful launch of a new embossing product line and streamlined communications with overseas facilities. Terence also contributed to preliminary designs, prototype development, and manufacturing setup for new products. Terence traveled to China frequently to ensure factory performance met expectations.

In 2009, Terence transitioned to the role of Product Engineer and Operations Lead at Ellison Educational Equipment. Terence eliminated domestic production and overhead expenses by transitioning manufacturing overseas. Terence also maximized production capacity and established drop-ship processes to reduce warehouse costs. Terence played a key role in securing new business partnerships and generating significant revenue.

From 2011 to 2014, Terence served as the Global Production Planning & Inventory Control Manager at Ellison Educational Equipment. Terence restructured the China manufacturing facility, reduced backorder item lists, and achieved significant cost savings. Terence spearheaded collaboration efforts and implemented just-in-time (JIT) production strategies.

Terence then took on the position of Director of Operations at Ellison Educational Equipment from 2014 to 2019. Terence secured on-time releases and revenues during labor disruptions and congestion in West Coast ports. Terence also implemented supply plans, consolidated warehouse space, and established distribution processes in China. Terence successfully onboarded new accounts, including HSN and Walmart.

Most recently, Terence became the Director of Supply Chain at 9to5 Seating in 2019. Terence supported the launch of new product series and models, which contributed significantly to the current business revenue. Terence also reduced inventory and implemented efficient supply chain processes.

Terence Chan completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering with a Semiconductor Manufacturing Option at UCLA from 2006 to 2011. In addition to their degree, they obtained certifications as a Change Management Specialist (CMS) and Six Sigma Lean Professional (SSLP) from the Management and Strategy Institute in 2014.
