Sonovia Petty is an experienced community organizer and advocate, currently serving at Chicago Legal Advocacy for Incarcerated Mothers (CLAIM) since September 2012. Additionally, Sonovia has held the position of Youth Coordinator at A Safe Haven Foundation/CCIL since April 2012, focusing on mentoring youth aged 15 to 20 by teaching job skills and promoting community involvement. As an advocate for the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless since September 2009, Sonovia has worked on behalf of the homeless and formerly incarcerated individuals, providing a voice for those unable to speak for themselves. Sonovia also has experience in data entry for donor databases. Educational pursuits include training at BIR Training Center in 2012 and ongoing studies at Malcolm X College, following graduation from Manley High School.
