David Laughman

David Laughman is an experienced professional in the field of materials science, currently serving as the Director of Research and Development at A123 Systems since February 2019. Prior to this role, David held various positions at A123 Systems, including Sr. Manager and Research and Development Manager, as well as Senior Research Scientist. David's previous experience includes a tenure as a Senior Scientist at Ilika Technologies Ltd, where the focus was on thick and thin film materials relevant to solid-state batteries. David also contributed to the University of Muenster as a postdoctoral research scientist, developing microcontact printing techniques for lithium-ion battery applications. David holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Münster and an M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Lehigh University.
