Eugene Smotkin

Eugene Smotkin is head of the scientific advisory board at A3 Global. Previously, he was CEO and founder of Nuvant Systems, a worldwide provider of renewable battery technology, which was acquired by A3 Global in January 2022. Dr. Smotkin has 14 US patents, 90 publications, and has chaired and organized five International Symposiums in the US, Japan, and Iceland. Eugene holds a PhD in chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a professor of chemistry at Northeastern University, where the central theme of his lab is the discovery of better materials for clean energy sources and processes through electrolytes and electrocatalytic materials. Professor Smotkin has mentored 19 MS and Ph.D. graduates.
