Robert Fleming

Robert Fleming has extensive work experience in the insurance and legal sectors. Robert has held various roles in companies such as The AA (Ireland), Aviva Insurance Ireland DAC, Aviva, Aviva Europe, Combined Insurance Company of America, Corporation of Lloyd's, Equitas Limited, Syndicate Underwriting Management Limited, and Berwin Leighton.

Robert'smost recent position was as the Director of Regulatory Affairs, Risk & Compliance at The AA (Ireland) since June 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Interim Head of Compliance at Aviva Insurance Ireland DAC from January 2020 to June 2021.

At Aviva, they held multiple roles, including Head of Conduct Regulatory Risk SME from September 2016 to January 2020, and Head of Conduct Regulatory Risk, Aviva Group Centre from August 2012 to September 2016. Robert was responsible for providing conduct risk advice, over-sighting compliance and regulatory risk teams, and implementing the conduct risk management framework across the Aviva Group.

Before joining Aviva, Robert worked at Combined Insurance Company of America as the Vice President & International Chief Counsel from September 2008 to March 2012. Robert also had a brief stint at the Corporation of Lloyd's in 2008, in the Compliance Department on a fixed-term contract.

Earlier in their career, Robert served as the Company Solicitor at Equitas Limited from September 1996 to November 2007, where they played a pivotal role in negotiating and drafting agreements related to the Reconstruction & Renewal plan for Lloyd's. Robert also worked as a Company Solicitor at Syndicate Underwriting Management Limited for a few months in 1996.

Robert began their legal career as an Assistant Solicitor at Berwin Leighton from March 1990 to May 1996.
