Pamela Smith

VP Future Programmes at AAC Clyde Space

Pamela Smith (Anderson) has a diverse work experience in the space industry. Pamela started their career as a Summer Intern at ATKINS GLOBAL SOLUTIONS LTD in 2009. Pamela then worked as a PhD Student at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 2012. From 2013 to 2015, they served as a Research Associate and Knowledge Exchange Fellow at the University of Strathclyde. Pamela joined Clyde Space Ltd in 2015 and held roles as a Space Applications & Sales Engineer and later as a Systems Engineer. Pamela then became an Ambassador for the ESA Business Applications UK Ambassador Network at the European Space Agency from 2018 to 2020. Currently, they are working at AAC Clyde Space as the Head of Institutional Engagement.

Pamela Smith (Anderson) obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Strathclyde from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Engineering Honors (BEng Hons.) in Aero-Mechanical Engineering from the same university between 2005 and 2009. Pamela also spent a year at the University of Iowa in 2007-2008, although the specific degree or field of study is not provided. Their secondary education was completed at Notre Dame High School from 1999 to 2005. Pamela has also obtained certifications such as Fellow (FIMechE) from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and they hold the designation of Chartered Engineer (CEng) from the same institution. Additionally, they are a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certified by the Project Management Institute.
