Thomas Britton

Dr. Britton’s involvement in the behavioral health field spans more than 30 years, and hisextensive work history provides a rich background from which he leads American Addiction Centers. Throughout his professional career, Tom has held the belief that “all people hold the innate potential to improve their lives and the lives of those around them.” Tom is committed to lifelong learning, completing a Doctorate in Public Health at the Gillings School of Global Health, a master’s degree in addiction treatment, and a master’s in marriage and family therapy. Currently,

Dr. Britton is the CEO of one of the nation’s largest treatment providers specializing in substance use disorder treatment, American Addiction Centers. Dr. Britton has taught and lectured throughout the country and is considered an expert in the intersection of addiction and the larger context of public health and policy. Personally, Tom has used his history of addiction and recovery to guide organizations and communities to a place of compassionate but science-driven practice.

AAC Holdings, Inc. is a provider of inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment services for individuals with drug and alcohol addiction.
