Hieun Shin

Hieun Shin serves as a Correspondent for AFP since May 2024 and holds the position of Vice President at AAJA-Asia since January 2023. Previously, from March 2018 to May 2024, Hieun Shin worked as a Seoul Bureau Reporter for The Economist, focusing on South and North Korean politics, economy, society, business, finance, and culture. Hieun Shin contributed to the conceptualization, research, and reporting of stories on diverse topics related to North and South Korea. Hieun Shin earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in International Economics and Business Administration from Ewha Womans University, completing studies in February 2019.
