Asmaa Salem Farag

Asmaa Salem Farag is a Nuclear Safety and Risk Engineer at Aalo Atomics since October 2023, with an extensive background in nuclear engineering and research. As a Graduate Research Assistant at North Carolina State University from August 2021 to May 2024, Asmaa collaborated with Idaho National Laboratory on enhancing Probabilistic Risk Assessment tools and conducted safety analysis for the PULSTAR research reactor. Prior experience includes internships at Idaho National Laboratory focused on risk assessment tool development and severe accident analysis, an internship with the International Atomic Energy Agency performing Loss of Offsite Power analyses, and academic research at The University of New Mexico and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. Asmaa holds a PhD in Nuclear Engineering from North Carolina State University, alongside an MS in the same field, and a Bachelor's degree from Alexandria University.
