Mohammad Majd Bakir Bin M. Adib has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Mohammad Majd Bakir started their career at UNDP Syria as an Advisor in 2003 before joining the Middle East Institute as a Lecturer in 2002. Mohammad Majd Bakir then worked as a Credit Analyst at the Central Bank of Syria from 2002 to 2004. Moving on, Adib joined AAOIFI and held various positions including Researcher, Technical Analyst, and Financial Analyst from 2005 to 2008. Mohammad Majd Bakir later worked at Investment and Finance as an Author and Editor, contributing to The Financial Encyclopedia. Adib returned to AAOIFI in 2013 as a Senior Financial Analyst. Mohammad Majd Bakir also served as a Working Group Member at the Working Group on Sectorization and Classification - ESCWA in 2018 and as a Working Group Member at the Islamic Financial Institution Working Group in the same year. In 2016, Adib became the Senior Manager of Accounting and Governance Standards Development at AAOIFI and later in 2019, they became the Director of Accounting Standards. Recently, they joined Syria International Islamic Bank as a Shari'a Supervisory Board Member in 2021.
Mohammad Majd Bakir Bin M. Adib has a diverse education history. Mohammad Majd Bakir obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics with a focus on Accounting and Business Administration from Aleppo University, where they studied from 1995 to 2001. In 2009, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Finance, with a General focus, from the DePaul Driehaus College of Business, which they completed in 2010.
In 2018, Mohammad acquired a certification as a Certified Islamic Professional Accountant (CIPA) from AAOIFI CIPA, specializing in Islamic Accounting. This certification was granted by the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) in December 2018.
