Allison Hanes Mph (Delgado)

Allison (Delgado) Hanes, MPH has a diverse work experience spanning multiple sectors. Allison started their career as a Quality & Patient Safety Intern at Alexian Brothers Health System in 2011, where they coordinated policy and procedure conversions and supported regulation activities. Following this, they served as a Community Health Volunteer in Uganda with the Peace Corps from 2011 to 2013, overseeing youth development camps, managing a grant for an HIV/AIDS project, and mentoring health committees and workers.

In 2013, Allison became an Educator at Central CUSD #301, where they recorded and analyzed data for intervention strategies, developed computer science lesson plans, and conducted trainings for implementing Google tools in classrooms. Allison then worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Health Research & Policy from 2016 to 2017, managing a CDC research grant on cervical cancer prevention in Senegal, coordinating partnerships for data collection, and evaluating research activities.

Allison's most recent position was at the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), where they held various roles. From 2017 to 2018, they served as an Administrative Liaison to the CEO/Executive Vice President, providing high-level administrative and strategic support, overseeing executive meetings, and managing board-prioritized projects. Allison then became a Program Manager for the Gun Safety & Injury Prevention Initiative (GSIPI) from 2018 to 2020, leading the design and execution of the 2019 GSIPI Summit and supporting partner organizations in implementing action items from the summit's agenda.

Currently, Allison is a Program Manager for Child Safety Health & Wellness at the American Academy of Pediatrics. In this role, they manage the Violence Prevention Subcommittee and Gun Safety and Injury Prevention Initiative, leveraging funds to support training and resources for healthcare professionals, and participating in the development and revision of AAP policy around violence prevention.

Allison (Delgado) Hanes, MPH, obtained their Master's Degree in Public Health with a focus in Community Health Sciences & Global Health from the University of Illinois Chicago. Allison attended the university from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Public Health from Northern Illinois University, where they studied from 2007 to 2011.
