Julia Matakis, MPH, PCC, CNTC, CPCC has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and organizations.

Julia currently works as a Program Manager | ECHO Evaluation at the American Academy of Pediatrics since January 2022.

Before that, they were the Managing Director and Leadership Coach at The Brighton Resource Group since July 2011. Here, they provided personal and professional leadership coaching, designed and delivered workshops and trainings, and supported change-making organizations.

From April 2019 to July 2021, they served as a Leadership Coach at Talentedly, where they helped companies build happy workplaces through certified professional coaching programs.

Julia also has experience working at the Center for Leadership Education in Maternal and Child Public Health, University of Minnesota. From July 2007 to March 2013, they worked as the Director of Community Outreach, providing technical assistance, training, and support to maternal and child health professionals. In addition, they worked as a Graduate Education Evaluation Specialist from October 2006 to July 2007, coordinating graduate medical education programs and managing evaluations.

From 2005 to 2007, they worked as an Evaluation Specialist at the Minnesota Department of Health, supporting the evaluation of statewide Alliance activities in the Minnesota Cancer Alliance.

At the University of Minnesota, they served as a Research Study Coordinator and Research Assistant, assisting in research on prenatal smoking cessation intervention and managing study databases from 2005 to 2006.

Julia also has experience working with youth and advocacy organizations. Julia coordinated a Youth Employment Training Program at Northwest Youth and Family Services from 2003 to 2004 and designed and implemented a youth advocacy service system at the Sexual Violence Center from 2002 to 2003.

Lastly, they worked as a Youth Counselor at the YWCA of Minneapolis, facilitating comprehensive sexuality education intervention programs for youth from 1999 to 2002.

Overall, Julia Matakis brings a wealth of experience in leadership coaching, program management, evaluation, and maternal and child health outreach.

Julia Matakis, MPH, PCC, CNTC, CPCC has a comprehensive education history. Julia obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in American Indian Studies and Public Health from the University of Minnesota between 1995 and 1999. Later, they pursued further education and earned their Master of Public Health degree with a focus on Maternal and Child Health from the University of Minnesota from 2004 to 2006.

In 2011 and 2012, Julia attended the Co-Active Training Institute to enhance their coaching skills. Though they didn't receive a specific degree, they completed courses in Co-Active Coaching, which supported their professional development in the field. Additionally, during this time, they also pursued a Leadership Graduate program at the same institute, specializing in contextually-based experientially-driven transformative leadership.

To enhance their coaching expertise further, Julia also obtained several certifications. In 2018, they became a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) through the Co-Active Training Institute. During the same year, they also obtained the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) certification from the International Coaching Federation. Recently, in July 2022, they completed the Certified Neurotransformational Coach (CNTC) program provided by BEabove Leadership.

Julia Matakis has demonstrated a commitment to continuously expanding their knowledge and skills in both public health and coaching, incorporating diverse educational experiences and certifications to enhance their professional practice.
