Brian Waechter

Brian Waechter is an accomplished information technology leader with extensive experience in managing IT services across various organizations. Currently, as the Director of Information Technology at the American Academy of Ophthalmology since March 2017, Waechter oversees IT operations for a major global association of eye physicians and surgeons. Previously, Waechter served as the Director of Information Technology at UC Berkeley College of Letters and Science from February 2014 to March 2017, where responsibilities included IT leadership and support for a large faculty and student base. Earlier roles included Assistant Hospital Director for IT Services at UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, Senior Project Manager and Application Developer at UC Davis Health System, and founding a department focused on IT process improvement. Waechter holds a BA in Music Performance from Central Bible College and has a diverse educational background that includes studies at Wayne State University and Troy High School.
