Heiner Baab

Heiner Baab is an accomplished legal and compliance professional with extensive experience in data protection and IT agreements. Currently serving as the Group Privacy Officer at Aareon AG since May 2018, Baab focuses on developing a data protection organization and overseeing compliance for German companies, while also having held the position of Chief Information Security Officer until 2022. Prior roles include Director Legal at Honeywell, where responsibilities encompassed establishing legal frameworks and negotiating IT agreements, as well as Senior Contract Manager at Dell, achieving recognition with the Dell Solution Win of the Year 2013. Baab has also contributed significantly at Colt Technology Services as Contract Manager and Data Protection Officer, and at Linklaters as an attorney, engaging in various aspects of IT law, competition law, and M&A transactions. Educational qualifications include a PhD in law, an LL.M. from Penn State, and multiple certifications in data protection and IT security.
