Othiamba Umi

Othiamba Umi, Esq. currently serves as the Associate State Director for Advocacy & Outreach at AARP, a position held since November 2021. Prior to this role, Othiamba Umi was the Field Director at Think New Mexico from September 2014 to November 2021 and worked as an Assistant Trial Attorney at the New Mexico District Attorney's Office from 2013 to 2014. Othiamba Umi earned a Juris Doctorate in Law from The University of New Mexico School of Law between 2007 and 2010 and holds a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Psychology and Spanish from the University of New Mexico, completed in 2007. Education was also received at Santa Fe Preparatory School, graduating in 2002.
