Scott Wegenast is an experienced communications and advocacy professional currently serving as Communications Manager at AARP Kentucky since October 2018. With a background in lobbying for Kentucky's 470,000 AARP members, Scott oversees voter engagement, federal issues, livable communities, and financial resiliency initiatives. Prior roles at AARP include Associate State Director for Advocacy and Outreach and Associate State Director for Communications, where Scott focused on strategic media outreach. Scott has also held positions as Program Coordinator at AARP Kentucky, Public Information Officer for the Louisville Metro Government's Air Pollution Control District, Manager of Grassroots Advocacy at Kentucky Action, and Policy Analyst at the Catholic Conference of Kentucky.
