Tara Thomas

Government Affairs Manager

Tara Thomas currently serves as the Government Affairs Manager and was previously a Policy Analyst at AASA, The School Superintendents Association, since September 2021. Prior to this role, Tara worked at the Girl Scouts of the USA from January 2018 to September 2021, where positions included Public Policy Associate and Public Policy and Advocacy Coordinator, as well as a Public Policy and Advocacy Intern. Earlier experience includes serving as Assistant Marketing Director at McFarland Restaurants LLC from August 2012 to December 2017, where responsibilities involved developing online marketing strategies and community outreach. Additional roles included Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and District Assistant for the Florida House of Representatives, which involved legislative support and Constituent services. Tara holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, completed in 2017.
