Nicole Butler

Nicole Butler has gained extensive experience in the field of compliance and legal work. Nicole is currently serving as the Chief Compliance Officer for Aave, starting in July 2022. Prior to this, Nicole held the position of International Compliance Officer & MLRO at Plaid from November 2019 to June 2022. Nicole also worked as the UK Compliance Lead & Deputy MLRO at Coinbase from April 2018 to October 2019. Before joining Coinbase, Nicole served as the Compliance Manager & Deputy MLRO at Mako Trading from March 2015 to April 2018. Nicole previously worked as the Deputy Head of Compliance at Alpari (UK) Ltd from January 2012 to February 2015. Nicole began their career as an Adjudicator at the Financial Ombudsman Service from May 2009 to December 2011. Nicole also gained legal experience as a Trainee Solicitor at Howard Kennedy from April 2007 to April 2009.

Nicole Butler earned their Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from the University of Leicester, where they studied law from 2002 to 2005. Continuing their education in the same field, they completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the University of the West of England from 2005 to 2006.
