Kirkland Murray has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Kirkland started their career as the General Manager at Vending Services Incorporated, where they managed the daily operations of a multi-million dollar vending machine company. Kirkland successfully negotiated contracts and reduced overhead costs.

Kirkland then moved on to the Maryland Department of Business & Economic Development, where they served as the Director for the Capital Region. In this role, they worked closely with the Assistant Secretary to establish strategic goals and ensured compliance with legislative requirements. Kirkland also oversaw the daily operations of all offices in the region.

Next, Kirkland joined the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation as the Business Development Director. Kirkland provided counseling to businesses on workforce development, recruitment, training, and real estate selection. Kirkland also played a key role in establishing policies and procedures for workforce training contracts and supported businesses in developing their applications.

Following this, Kirkland served as the President and CEO of the Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corp., a $6.6 million non-profit organization. Kirkland successfully managed the daily operations of the company, which had multiple locations across the county. Kirkland also secured numerous grants for the organization.

In addition to their professional roles, Kirkland also contributed as a Monthly Columnist for Capital Gazette Communications.
