Asankha Perera has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple companies and roles.

Asankha is currently the Founder and CEO of Aayu Technologies LLC, where they operate a Business to Business AS2 and EDI Software as a Service platform. Asankha founded this company in 2020.

Prior to this, Asankha Perera was the Founder and CEO of AdroitLogic, a systems integration company. Asankha founded the company in 2010 and focused on simplifying systems integration through quality code and high-performance platforms.

From 2018 to 2022, Asankha Perera held multiple roles at SLAppForge Inc, including Founder and CEO. SLAppForge Inc is a company that provides cloud-based enterprise software solutions.

Asankha Perera also had notable contributions to The Apache Software Foundation, where they served as the VP of Apache HttpComponents from 2010 to 2020. Asankha was responsible for building a non-blocking HTTP/S transport system for extreme performance.

Additionally, Asankha Perera was a lead contributor to the Apache Synapse Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) from 2006 to 2010. Asankha also worked at WSO2 as an Architect and Product Manager of the WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) from 2006 to 2008.

Before this, Asankha Perera held positions as a Software Architect at Virtusa from 2003 to 2006. Asankha also worked at Virtusa as a Technical Lead and Software Engineer from 2000 to 2002.

Asankha Perera began their career as an Analyst/Programmer at IBM Sri Lanka in 1995.

Asankha Perera began their education at St. Joseph's College in Colombo, where they studied from 1980 to 1993. Asankha then went on to attend the University of Colombo, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Computer Science, studying there from 1996 to 2000. Later, in 2002, Asanka pursued further education and completed a program called Singapore-MIT Alliance in Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Additionally, in the same year, they also pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science at the National University of Singapore.
