Mechanical Engineer III at Abaco Drilling Technologies

Jing Lu has a diverse range of work experience in the engineering field. Jing started their career as a Research Assistant at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 1999 to 2005. After that, they worked as a Mechanical Engineer Intern at General Electric in 2005, where they developed a Ternary Phase Diagram extraction tool.

Jing then joined Wellstream International Limited in 2006 as a Leader/Senior Technical Analyst, specializing in offshore flexible riser and flowline projects. During their time there, they worked on projects such as the Nobel "Aseng" and Tullow "Jubilee," conducting strength analysis of flexible risers.

In 2010, Jing Lu became a Technical Specialist Riser Analyst at FMC Technologies, focusing on well access systems. Jing conducted global and local component analysis for Statoil's "Snorre A" TTRs using various software tools.

From 2011 to 2012, Jing Lu worked at SBM Atlantia as a Senior Engineer in the Mooring & Riser Systems department. Jing'sresponsibilities included VIV analysis for SCR & Steel Lazy Wave Risers on projects like Noble "Leviathan" and Total "Moho Nord".

Jing Lu then joined Technip in 2012 as a Senior Riser Engineer. Jing'sresponsibilities included SCR & Umbilical hang-off structure stress analysis and SCR hang-off forging stress analysis for Deep Gulf Energy's "Kodiak" project.

In 2014, Jing Lu took on a leadership role as the President of the Sino Professionals Association, which lasted until 2015.

Lastly, in 2015, Jing Lu worked as a Mechanical Engineer III at Abaco Drilling Technologies.

Throughout their career, Jing Lu has gained extensive experience in mechanical engineering, specializing in riser analysis, stress analysis, and project management.

Jing Lu completed a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 2002 to 2006. Prior to that, from 1999 to 2002, Jing Lu obtained a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering also from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
