Alex Deng

Alex Deng has held various roles in the tech industry since 2013. Alex began their career as an IT Analyst Intern for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where they performed Quality Assurance testing using Siteimprove and received training as a Contributor Plus in Percussion and Rhythmyx CMS. In 2015, they joined Veracode as a Software Engineer in Test and a Dynamic Operations Engineer. In 2020, they joined Abacus Insights as a DevOps Engineer II and later a DevOps Engineer. In this role, they built and improved internal tools utilizing AWS/Kubernetes for deployment and release processes, led the coordinated effort to upgrade the Terraform version used across engineering, and researched cloud cost optimizations and implemented alerting/monitoring for the cloud infrastructure. Alex also served as a Software Engineer in Test, where they mentored and incorporated testing best practices within the DevOps team, led the design and implementation of new automated regression test suites for internal tools and applications, and coordinated the creation and destruction of ephemeral test environments as part of the monthly release cadence.

Alex Deng attended Syracuse University from 2010 to 2014 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
