Mike Ellis

Mike Ellis is the Business Development Director at Abbey Logistics Group. Mike has previous experience as the Chief Operating Officer at Suttons Group, Divisional Director at Bibby Distribution, and Commercial Manager at NR Evans Logistics.

In their role as Chief Operating Officer at Suttons Group, Mike was responsible for the management of seven hundred people, five hundred vehicles and nine hundred road tanks delivering bulk products including hazardous chemicals, gases, food and fuels. The key objectives of their role were safety, customer service, generating profit, development of the company’s capability and infrastructure and the management of key accounts and customer relationships.

As Divisional Director at Bibby Distribution, Mike was responsible for a team of managers and supervisors delivering an efficient and effective operation across a wide geographical area. Mike also had responsibility for business development and the implementation of new business opportunities.

At NR Evans Logistics, Mike was Commercial Manager for a successful and rapidly expanding temperature controlled distribution business. Their responsibilities included key account management of the main customers including Dairy Crest, Dawn Meats and Grampian Country Foods as well as business development, solutions development and the implementation of new business.

Their manager is Steve Granite, Chief Executive Officer. They work with Dave Patten - Group Managing Director, Peter Cunningham - Head of Liquids, and Matthew Male - Finance Director.
